Plan of Eccleshill dated 1890, showing a large part of the Village being sold.Athough this sale occurred at Leuchters restaurent in Bradford, many sales took place in the Victoria inn. This sale occurred in July 1890 after the death of Col. Stanhope.
The electoral register for Mount Street, Eccleshill - 1918. Note at this time only registered property owners (marked by an "R") or military personnel (showed by "NM") could vote (Women over 30 were given vote ofter WW1, with parity in 1928). An "a" to the left of the persons name shows them as absent, note the high number of absent military, 20 in a street Of 103 Houses. At least thee persons from this Mount Street were killed in the conflict, those at number 12,13 & 17.
Kellys directory for Mount Street 1916. These directory were produced for most areas of the UK, they list persons addresses and occupations. They were mainly used to assist door to door salesmen.
